[comics] Alan Moore’s Outbreak of Violets … ‘In 1995 Alan Moore wrote the text for a set of 24 cards, called Outbreak of Violets, which were given away at the MTV Europe Music Awards 1995, and have since become something of a Holy Grail for fanatical Alan Moore completists. Like me. The last time a set came up on eBay I bowed out of the bidding at £200, and the item eventually sold for £800, if I remember correctly…’ [via meowwcat]

Hi There,
I wonder if you can help me. I used to work for MTV and I have a pristine set of Outbreaks Of Violets. It’s a special edition presented in an art portfolio with the complete set of cards sealed in an envelope attached to one side of the portfolio and the 24 GFX prints, also in pristine condition, in the other side.
I’ve been trying to get a valuation or get in touch in Alan Moore to ask his advice on selling this but to no avail.
Would you have any information that may help me?
Many Thanks
Natt Moore
Hi Natt,
I’m a long-time Alan Moore fan and from everything I read, he doesn’t follow the market on his work.
That said, I do recall a copy of Outbreaks of Violets selling for at least a couple-hundred dollars on eBay. If you are interested in selling, please let me know, maybe we can work out a deal! My name’s Jonathan, but you can email me at newscomedy on aol. Thanks!
