[comics] Great Comic Panels #1: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. [Related: DK2 — DC’s PR Site for Dark Knight Strikes Back]
‘You sold us out, Clark. You gave them the power that should have been ours. Just like your parents taught you. My parents taught me a different lesson…lying on this street… shaking in deep shock… dying for no reason at all. They showed me that the world only makes sense when you force it to.’

I always thought the whole superhero comic thing was silly, but The Dark Night Returns fucking ROCKED because it put superheros into their proper political context if they really existed (i.e. vulnerable to media exploitation, manipulated by cynical politicians, etc.)
‘Ol Superman had to learn that lesson the hard way, didn’t he?
i think miracle/marvel man took superheroes to a whole new level, too.
I didn’t like it, But thats just because I am a huge superman fan, and a sore loser. But Batman fans will love it. It was good, just not for everyone…
